Parking

Parking is limited especially in the summer on a nice day. Try to get there early to get a good spot.  When you arrive you will probably see a lot of divers and look for a parking spot know that you are going to enter the water to the left of the point as you are facing the lighthouse.

Restrictions

During the summer months there is no diving on Sunday.

Experience

This is a good dive site for beginners when the weather is nice.

Entry

Rock entry with light surf when the weather is nice

General information

Nubble is probably one of the most well known dive sites in Maine or New Hampshire. Only twenty minutes from Portsmouth Nubble is very accessible for a morning dive.  The diving at Nubble is very dependent on the weather.  You will find good diving if the is little of no wind or if there is a light wind out of the south or west. You will find bad conditions if the wind is out of the northeast.  One of the problems that you will notice is that there are a lot of divers here.  This tends to murk up the water a bit but you can easily find your way away from the masses.  There is a lot to see here but if you are going to make your way out of the protected cove be aware that there can be a heavy current on the back side of the island. view weather button02

Known hazards

The rocks can be very slippery so be careful as you find your way to the water.  It is best to attempt this during high tide as less wet rock is exposed.

Parking

There is parking available in the parking lot which is right next to the beach.  It has been a while since I have been there so this may not be the case anymore.

Restrictions

None that I know of but it may be a good idea to check before you go with he Cape Elizabeth police

Experience

This is a good dive site for beginners when the weather is nice.

Entry

Pebble beach... Just wade in and have at.

General information

This is a good entry level dive on a good day. Since this site is directly open to the ocean it is effected by the weather or ocean swells. In any case it is an easy entry even with moderate surf,  Once in the water you will find 35-45 feet and rocks full of wildlife on either side of the beach.  I have not ventured out of the little cove but I would imagine there is a current out there to be aware of.

Known hazards

At the points there are breakers that form and you may not want to surface out there.
